It was a great day out, full of fun activities ,handsome dogs and good weather. Was good to see you all.

Kids loved our balloon dogs and we raised some money for our small local charity, Paws rescue. Thank you everyone for all your support!

Bring out your astounding hounds everybody. Ku-ring-gai council is running a great Dog’s Day Out and Canine Biathlon this Sunday! Petico is excited to be taking part through the donation of prizes and we will be running a stall too. It will be a great day so come out and play and stop by to say hello. Of course bring your four legged friends, we would love to meet them!

Thanks so much for SnapUp -- such a clever idea. I'm not keen on the feel of my Rosie's parcels, so SnapUp comes to my rescue.

i was given the snap up scoop one day by my father who knows how much i dislike picking up dog poo. While i was living at home i would try and avoid it by letting dad take care of it when he needed to mow the lawn, but even then at least at home you can use a shovel, particularly for the fresher, sloppier ones. At the park i usually just hope the dog holds on, or finds a really bushy area far out of the way that would be impossible to pick up from. So i gave the snap up scoop a try. The first thing i liked about it is how handily it clips onto the lead so you don't even notice it's there, i have a big dog and if he gets excited both hands are usually required to get him under control. I find the scooper itself really easy to use, no squishy, warm poo feelings ( i think the warmth from the fresh ones is the worst). I also like that it acts as another barrier between you and the poo, i've been to the park many a time with only one bag left and it happens to have a hole in it, or you end up making a hole in it trying to open it.  I have mentioned before that i have a large dog, and with that comes large, sometimes gob-smackingly large dog doos, and i have quite small hands and with those large ones take me 2 bags and a couple of goes to scoop it up, so maybe there might be room for making a larger size scoop for the owner of the larger size dogs. I also like the fact you can use it to hold the soiled bag while you are walking home; quite a few parks i frequent don't have bins. Overall i was really impressed with the scooper and it will remai  attached to my lead so i don't forget it at home!

Christmas Gifts for Paws Dog Rescue Charity

One of the great pleasures of life is to be able to give a gift. Petico marked its first Christmas by taking the opportunity to place a small gift in the stockings of the organisers of PAWS – our local dog rescue charity www.paws.com.au . Without their tireless efforts many more beautiful dogs would finish their life unwanted, unable to find a home and sadly, euthenased. THANK YOU on behalf of all the dog lovers out there!

We also dropped off some of our sling backpacks as a donation for the next five lucky adopters of some beautiful cross-bred puppies. Apparently only two are yet to find a home. Here is hoping for a great New Year for those pups.

We hope everyone had some special moments over the Christmas and New Year break. Best wishes for 2011. May the year be kind to you all.
